President William Ruto arrives in Dodoma for key engagements during Tanzania state visit

President of Kenya William Ruto arrived in Dodoma on May 5, 2026, as he continued his two-day State Visit to Tanzania.


Upon landing at Dodoma Airport, he was received by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, alongside several government officials, including Regional Commissioner Rosemary Senyamule.

During his stay in the capital, President Ruto is scheduled to address the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania marking his first address to the Tanzanian legislature and his second visit to Dodoma since 2022.

Following the parliamentary session, the Kenyan leader will proceed to the State House in Chamwino, where he will be hosted by President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

At Chamwino State House, the two leaders are expected to hold further engagements before President Ruto officially bids farewell to his host and other Tanzanian officials, concluding his visit and returning to Kenya.
