Wizkid and Asake secured nominations in the fan-favorite “Viewer’s Choice” category, Burna Boy also earned a nomination in the “Best Collaboration” category thanks to his song “WGFT” featuring Gunna.

Tems emerged as the most nominated African artist at the 2026 BET Awards after securing three major nominations including Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, the BET Her Award for her single ‘First,’ and the Viewer’s Choice category for ‘Raindance,’ her collaboration with British rapper Dave while South African singer Tyla received nominations for both “Viewer’s Choice” and “Best Video” with her hit song “Chanel.”

American rapper Cardi B earned most nominations following the success of her album "Am I The Drama" . She is competing in categories including “Album of the Year,” “Best Female Hip Hop Artist,” “Viewer’s Choice” for her track “Outside,” and “Best Collaboration” through “Errtime Remix.” Other major names nominated for Album of the Year include Tyler, the Creator, J. Cole and Bruno Mars. Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar secured nominations in several top categories including Best Male Hip Hop Artist and Best Collaboration.

The 2026 BET Awards ceremony will take place on June 28 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and will be hosted by comedian Druski.
