The remembrance event took place in a spirit of unity and reflection, as staff members of the company gathered to pay tribute to the more than one million lives lost during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi on 12,May 2026.

During the ceremony, participants were encouraged to remember the history of the genocide, stand against genocide ideology, and continue supp

orting national unity and reconciliation efforts. Employees also reflected on the importance of preserving memory so that such atrocities never happen again.

Urwibutso Enterprises, a well-known agro-processing company based in Nyirangarama, is widely recognized not only for its economic contribution but also for its involvement in community development and social initiatives. The company often participates in national remembrance activities as part of its commitment to unity and peace in Rwanda.

The commemoration comes at a time when Rwandans across the country and abroad are marking the 32nd anniversary of the genocide, under the theme of remembering, rebuilding, and renewing hope for the future.
