Arsenal end 22-Year Premier League drought as Kagame congratulates Club
President Paul Kagame has congratulated Arsenal FC after the club won the 2025/26 English Premier League title, ending a 22-year wait for the trophy.
Kagame, a longtime Arsenal supporter, described the achievement as well deserved after what he called a difficult and competitive season. Arsenal secured the title under manager Mikel Arteta, marking the club’s 14th English league championship and their first since the famous 2003/04 “Invincibles” campaign.
The North London side has spent recent years rebuilding under Arteta, narrowly missing out on the title several times before finally reclaiming the crown this season. Arsenal finished ahead of rivals including Manchester City after maintaining strong form throughout the campaign.
The club also shares a partnership with Rwanda through the Visit Rwanda tourism campaign, which promotes the country internationally through football.
Arsenal’s victory sparked celebrations among supporters around the world, including in Rwanda where the club enjoys a large fan base. The title is being viewed as one of the biggest achievements of Arteta’s tenure and a sign of Arsenal’s return among Europe’s elite football clubs.
