Prime Minister Nsengiyumva represents President Kagame at Museveni’s Swearing-In Ceremony
Rwanda’s Prime Minister, Dr. Justin Nsengiyumva, on May 12, 2026, joined heads of state, government officials and other dignitaries in Kampala for the swearing-in ceremony of Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
President Museveni officially began a new five-year term after securing victory in Uganda’s recent presidential election.
Dr. Nsengiyumva represented President Paul Kagame at the ceremony, which attracted leaders from across Africa and beyond.
The inauguration took place at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds in Kampala, where President Museveni reaffirmed his commitment to advancing Uganda’s development, strengthening security and promoting regional cooperation.
Rwanda and Uganda continue to maintain bilateral relations in various sectors including trade, security and regional integration within the East African Community.
