RDF Army Chief of Staff Visits Rwandan Peacekeepers in Central African Republic
The Rwanda Defence Force Army Chief of Staff, Maj Gen Vincent Nyakarundi, together with a delegation he is leading, visited Rwandan peacekeepers serving under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), particularly the first Rwandan Battalion (RWABATT-1).
The visit took place on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the RDF base camp located at Socatel M’Poko in Bangui.
During the engagement, Maj Gen Nyakarundi delivered a message of appreciation from the RDF High Command, commending the troops for their professionalism, discipline and dedication in carrying out peacekeeping duties.
Maj Gen Nyakarundi is in the Central African Republic on an official working visit aimed at strengthening the longstanding military cooperation between Rwanda and the Central African Republic.
Together with his delegation, he is also expected to visit other Rwandan contingents deployed under the United Nations mission as well as those serving under bilateral cooperation agreements between the two countries.
