Rwanda deepens legal cooperation with ICSID ahead of Kigali meeting
The Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Usta Kayitesi, received Martina Polasek, Vice President of the World Bank and Secretary-General of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), who is currently in Kigali for a high-level meeting of Attorneys General organized by the World Bank.
The meeting is part of preparations for a major conference scheduled to take place in Kigali from May 5 to 7, 2026, bringing together Attorneys General from different countries to discuss legal frameworks related to investment disputes and international cooperation.
Their discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Rwanda and ICSID, particularly in enhancing legal capacity, improving investment dispute resolution mechanisms, and supporting a stable and investor-friendly legal environment.
The engagement reflects Rwanda’s continued collaboration with the World Bank and international legal institutions in promoting effective governance and investment protection frameworks.
