Sudan recalls ambassador from Ethiopia over alleged drone attacks
Sudan has summoned its ambassador from Ethiopia, accusing the neighbouring country of being involved in a series of drone attacks targeting different locations, including Khartoum International Airport in the capital.
The Sudanese government claims that Ethiopia played a role in these incidents, which have raised tensions between the two countries. However, Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly rejected the allegations, stating that they are “completely unfounded” and lack any credible evidence.
According to the spokesperson of the Sudanese Armed Forces, the government believes it has evidence suggesting that at least four drone strikes carried out since March 1 originated from Bahir Dar Airport in Ethiopia.
The accusations have further strained relations between Sudan and Ethiopia, which have previously experienced diplomatic disagreements over border issues, the Nile dam project, and regional security concerns.
Ethiopia has not indicated any retaliatory diplomatic action but continues to deny any involvement in the reported attacks.
