The prestigious continental tournament, which brought together Africa’s top men’s volleyball clubs, was held for the 47th time and officially concluded on May 2, 2026. The competition ended with Egypt’s Al Ahly SC claiming the title after a strong performance in the final against Rwanda’s Police VC.
Al Ahly secured a straight-sets victory over Police VC, winning 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-22), demonstrating their dominance and experience on the continental stage. The win marked another significant achievement for the Egyptian giants, who are among the most successful clubs in African volleyball history.
In her closing remarks at the end of the tournament, Hajij Bouchra praised Rwanda for delivering a well-organized and memorable event. She highlighted the country’s strong infrastructure, professionalism, and commitment to promoting sports development across Africa.“Rwanda has once again proven its capability to host major international competitions at the highest level,” she noted, emphasizing the smooth coordination, quality facilities, and enthusiastic support from local fans.
The tournament not only showcased high-level volleyball competition but also reinforced Rwanda’s growing reputation as a reliable host for continental and global sporting events. Over the past years, the country has invested heavily in sports infrastructure and event management, attracting major competitions across different disciplines.
For Rwanda, hosting the championship provided an opportunity to boost sports tourism, promote local talent, and strengthen its presence within the African sports community.
As the curtain falls on the 2026 edition, attention now shifts to future tournaments, with expectations that the success witnessed in Rwanda will set a benchmark for upcoming hosts across the continent.
